BF hates it when I tell people about his Burger Day, but I think it's adorable. Since the Bagley apartment days, every Thursday has been Burger Day because according to him, Burger Days are the best days (talk about superstitious). On the rare occasion that he does not have a Burger Day, Murphy's Law always kicks in full effect. It's the strangest phenomenon.
Today, I accompanied BF to a brief meeting (I sat at his former co-worker's desk and studied) and then we came to FBM's house. I was gonna go off to Sbux to study but they told me to just set up shop here, while they go out for a little bit. Since we hadn't eaten yet, but they were going to eat at FBM's Wife's BIL's, I had to fend for myself.
For the first time ever, since BF and I have been together, I had a burger all by myself. This is momentous b/c 1) I haven't had a burger by myself since college; 2) he usually pressures me into eating burgers and I still resist; 3) having a burger without him is like an unspoken sin because he worships the burger. He even gets jealous when I have a burger with my friends (which also doesn't happen very often).
Not only that, but I ate it fast (believe it or not)...and I had a side of onion rings. Good grief! And it's not even Thursday.
Stress + hormones make me do uncharacteristic things. It's gonna be wild when I'm pregnant and working.
I'm tempted to categorize this as a Rarity.

Dude - I CANNOT believe you ate fast! I will just go ahead and ask on behalf of all your silent readers, "how long EXACTLY did it take you to consume this burger and onion rings?"
Burger Day sounds awesome! We are always inventing reasons to celebrate or things to have as traditions. So in my book Burger Day is a wonderful part of who BF (and you) are. So carry on with your big bad self!
Ok, what realistically happened was that I ate 3/4 of my burger fast, and I'm not sure how long it took me. The remaining 1/4 and 6-7 onion rings took me a while b/c 1) I picked up a People magazine and 2) I was already full (but of course I keep force-feeding myself), both of which slow me down immensely.
You caught me. LOL I had a strong start (~15 mins) but probably still ended up taking my usual time (~60 mins). :( BF will def attest that it takes me ~60 mins to eat a regular burger and not even a full side order.
Everyday is a potential Ice-Cream Day for me! :)
People Magazine - do you buy it or subscribe? I keep thinking of telling my in-laws that is what I want for graduation (1 year subscription). People Magazine is my favorite magazine (after Newsweek, National Geographic and JSLHR - of course!).
15 minutes for 3/4 of the burger? That seems appropriate-I need to eat with you more b/c I am a shoveler and a chuggalugger!
